Government Asks for More Time to Fortify Sderot Schools

The government appealed Tuesday to the Supreme Court for six more months to fortify schools in Sderot. The Supreme Court had ruled in May of 2007 that the government must fortify six schools in Sderot entirely and not only certain rooms within the schools.

The government explained that it is waiting for the Sderot municipality to act on the issue and cannot currently undertake the fortification. This is the second time the government has asked for an extension in carrying out the court’s ruling.
