Hamas Won't Let Egypt Treat Wounded Gazans

Responding to charges that it was not allowing residents of Gaza who were wounded in Israel’s attacks to cross into Egypt for treatment, Egyptian Foreign Minister Ahmed Aboul Gheit said that Hamas was to blame. “We are waiting for the wounded Palestinians to cross. They are not being allowed to cross,” he told reporters on Sunday. Asked whose fault it was, he replied, “Ask the party in control on the ground in Gaza.”

Hamas has been in control of the Gaza Region since June 2007.

Israel is not turning them away. Dozens of Gaza Arabs are being treated in Ashkelon's Barzilai Hospital at the same time terrorists are bombarding the city. The medical facility, the largest on the southern coast, is in the line of rocket fire, and medical staff often have to stop caring for patients and run for cover during air raid warnings.
