Israel Police Commander David Cohen asked leaders of the Arab community Sunday night to call for restraint, demonstrate understanding and cooperate with police in their message of calm, in the wake of dozens of demonstrations on Sunday against Israel's counterterror operation in Gaza.

A number of people, including police officers, were injured during the demonstrations. A number of people were arrested.
