Former Public Security Minister Uzi Landau called on Israeli police to immediately tear down a "mourner's tent" set by Jaffa Arabs, in solidarity with Hamas, and to enforce the law and prevent future provocations by Arabs.

"Police must act with determination to prevent the plans of the Arab Higher Council to increase protests and rallies identifying with Hamas, and to prevent the incitement and cooperation of the Council with Israel's enemies, at time of war," he said. The Arab Higher Council on Saturday night called on Israeli Arabs to conduct a general strike on Sunday in protest against Israel's attacks in Gaza.
