MK David Rotem of Yisrael Beiteinu says that his party will not sit in any government that believes in the principle of land for peace. He was responding to Likud claims that the party would join Kadima in a coalition that would result in Foreign Minister and Kadima leader Tzipi Livni becoming prime minister.
Interviewed by Arutz 7, MK Rotem said that despite the security situation in the Gaza area, there's no room for an emergency government since Israel is approaching elections, but that if the country takes the proper steps, the current government will enjoy the support of the opposition. He expressed concern that Livni and Defense Minister Ehud Barak - chairman of the Labor Party - were worried that a failed military operation with complications could hurt them in the elections.
