The Knesset budget committee has decided Wednesday that government officials will not receive a raise in 2009. This decision comes in light of the global financial depression.
The decision affects the wages of the Prime Minister, the President, judges, ministers and their assistants. The committee said, “At this time these officials must be a personal example of proper leadership.”
