(IsraelNationalNews.com) Army Chief of Staff Lt.-Gen. Shaul Mofaz says that he will recommend that Israel attack Iraq if attacked by Saddam Hussein.
Speaking during an interview appearing in the weekend edition of Ma’ariv, the commander stated if the United States were to attack Syria, he does not believe that Syria would be too quick to attack Israel in return.
Mofaz added that the army and other agencies are prepared for the possibility of attacks that could strike from different fronts, including something of the magnitude of the World Trade Center and Pentagon attacks in the US, adding the likelihood of such attacks were close to zero. Mofaz quickly added that Israel has the proper answer to such incidents as well.
On the PA front, Mofaz explained that the PA has yet to take steps to dismantle the terrorist infrastructure and Israel can expect an increase in violence and attacks, the result of a PA initiative.
