(IsraelNN.com) Mayor Benny Vaknin said on Sunday that he will close Ashkelon schools if a Grad rocket launched by Gaza terrorists falls in the city, according to Ynet. Ashkelon was one of the places hit earlier in the day by missiles launched from the Hamas-controlled area.

Vaknin said, "It can't be that today, when the alarm sounds in Ashkelon, 30,000 students have to hide under their desks and look for protection. He added that the city would work diligently during the Chanukah vacation to formulate a plan of action.
