Member of Knesset Michael Eitan helped stop a purse snatcher Sunday evening in southern Tel Aviv. The 64-year-old Likud lawmaker saw the suspect, half Eitan's age or less, running with the purse on Cheil HaShiryon (Armored Corps) St., then heard shouting. Eitan said he ran after the thief, who refused Eitan's call to throw the purse away. Eitan and another man caught the purse-snatcher when he slipped and fell.

When the thief asked him how he was able to catch him, Eitan responded, "I trained by running for the Knesset."
