HaTivkah and Moledet Merge; Elon Not Running

(IsraelNN.com) The nationalist HaTivkah and Moledet parties agreed on Thursday to run together in the February Knesset elections. Moledet is leaving the Bayit Yehudi (Jewish Home) party following the 17th-place positioning of Moledet chairman Rabbi MK Benny Elon on its list of Knesset candidates.
Elon welcomed the merger but said that he would not run for re-election, and is retiring from public life.
