Prime Minister Olmert will travel to Turkey on Monday for meetings with Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan.

Turkey has served as an intermediary between Syria and Israel. Olmert initiated contact with Syria during his term as Prime Minister to try and achieve a peace agreement.
