(IsraelNN.com) A controversy is raging in Egypt over a Sheik who shook the hand of Israeli President Shimon Peres. Egyptian politician Assam Sultan told Al-Jazeera Sunday that he will ask for Sheik Mahmud Sayyad Tantui to be fired for shaking the hand of Peres in the United Nations in New York.

Tantui responded that he is prepared to meet with both the President and the Prime Minister of Israel. He also says that he is ready to visit Jerusalem if security conditions will allow.
