Tony Blair, the Quartet Ambassador in the Middle East, as well as the World Currency Foundation and the World Bank wrote a letter to Prime Minister Ehud Olmert Monday asking him to transfer money to Gaza. They claim that the Gaza banking system cannot operate unless Israel will continue transferring money.

Last week Minister of Defense Ehud Barak agreed to transfer NIS 100 million to banks in Gaza. On Sunday the Foreign Ministry announced it had established a committee to investigate further money transfers to Gaza.
