The United Torah Judaism party in the Jerusalem city council agreed to join Mayor Nir Barkat’s coalition on Monday. This means that 26 out of the 31 council members are now part of the coalition.

Barkat said: “This is another step in the path to a coalition which will be able to fight for the future of Jerusalem.” The Mayor will attempt to convince the Shas party to join his collation, thus gaining the support of all council members.
