Fateful Likud Primaries on Monday

The prospect of a big Likud win in the Knesset elections in February has attracted some 150 candidates to compete on Monday for their share of the support of approximately 100,000 Likud voters around the country in the party primaries. The polls will be open in 91 locations across the country from 10 a.m. until 10 p.m.

The primaries will determine whether the party takes chairman Binyamin Netanyahu’s centrist line, or will lean more to the right. The number of polling places is an example of procedural measures that favor the former prime minister.
