Defense Minister Ehud Barak has ordered Central Command head Major-General Gadi Shamni to prepare to destroy the houses of two terrorists who attacked in Jerusalem. The final decision on the destruction of the houses will be made following a hearing. The terrorists' families will be allowed to appeal the decision, first to Shamni and then to the High Court.

The houses in question belong to two terrorists who worked in construction in central Jerusalem and suddenly attacked Jews with heavy machinery. The first attacker murdered three Jews and wounded several more. The second attacker struck three weeks later and badly wounded a young man. Both were killed by alert bystanders.
