(IsraelNN.com) Kuwaiti newspaper El-Hiat reported Monday that Israel is interested in renewing the cease fire with Hamas. It reported that Amos Gilad, who reports to Minister of Defense Ehud Barak, arrived in Egypt last week and met with senior government officials in regard to the matter.

Sources stated that Israel is not interested in a complicated military action in Gaza which would lead to many casualties. However Israel may be interested in a limited military incursion before the coming elections. They also said that Egypt contacted both Israel and Hamas and asked both sides to refrain from escalating the violence in Gaza.
