J. K. Dutt, a senior Indian commando officer, stated that the terrorists intended to kill the hostages and not to enter into negotiations. He said, "At no point did we receive a request from the terrorists."

He also stated that the terrorists killed all of the hostages before Indian commandos entered the buildings. Six Israeli victims have so far been identified from the attacks in the Chabad House in Mumbai.
