Indian authorities have agreed to forgo autopsies of the Israeli and Jewish victims of the terror attacks in Mumbai. Israeli sources in India said that the local authorities have given them permission for Israel to transport the bodies to Israel. Zaka workers left for India on Saturday night to complete arrangements for their transport. The bodies were released to a private morgue, where they will await completion of the paperwork needed for their transport, possibly later Saturday night.

The Israeli embassy in New Delhi has hired a private security firm to protect the Chabad House, which has many valuable items, including Sifrei Torah, as well as personal effects of the Holtzbergs and others who were in the building. The Embassy said it feared that looters would try to steal items from the building, which was badly damaged in the terror attack.
