MK Ravitz Announces Retirement

(IsraelNN.com) MK Rabbi Avraham Ravitz announced, in a statement published in Thursday’s Yated Ne’eman hareidi-sector daily newspaper, that he is retiring from the Knesset and the United Torah Judaism party after six terms as a Knesset Member. Ravitz entered Israel's parliament in 1988, serving on many Knesset committees over his career. He was briefly Chairman of the Finance Committee and is currently serves on the Foreign Affairs and Defense Committee, as well as the Labor, Welfare and Health Committee.

Ravitz's governmental roles included Deputy Minister of Housing and Construction (twice), Deputy Minister of Education, and Deputy Minister of Social Affairs. The party has not chosen a replacement.
