The European Union (EU) and Israel plan to sign an "open skies" agreement that will remove market restrictions and increase air safety. EU officials and Israeli Ambassador to the EU, Ran Curiel met in Brussels on Tuesday to discuss the planned agreement.

Passenger traffic between the EU and Israel accounts for 54 percent of the Israeli market and has grown on an average of three percent a year the past decade.
