Defense Minister and Labor party Chairman Ehud Barak visited Hevron Wednesday and threatened that the State use force to oust the Jews living in the Peace House, if they do not go willingly. He said the state would enforce the High Court decision to evict them.
IDF Chief of Staff Gabi Ashkenazi also visited Wednesday.
The head of the IDF Central Command, General Gadi Shamni, met with senior Israel rights officials Tuesday about the possibilities of violence ensuing against soldiers if the situation comes to a physical transfer of the Peace House Jews. Maariv reported that some "settler leaders" told Shamni they are concerned there could be "blood spilled' in the process of forcibly removing the Jews from the Peace House."
