Finance Minister Roni Bar-On will meet Wednesday with Prime Minister Ehud Olmert to discuss the three plans Bar-On formulated in the last week to deal with the economic crisis. The plans include laying groundwork to create jobs, spreading safety nets for pensions and savings funds, and direct financial aid to big businesses and tycoons to increase available credit.
Olmert is expected to heed criticism and threats from the Histadrut National Labor Union about the safety net Bar-On is proposing, and suggest a plan of his own that would offer safety nets to people also under 60 years of age.
