Israel's city of military bases, being developed in the Negev, will be named after former Prime Minister Ariel Sharon, according to a report Monday by Maariv/nrg. Negev and Galilee Development Minister Yaakov Edery is expected to propose the name in the next few days to a ministerial committee on development of the two areas.
Minister Edery told Maariv/nrg, "The training-base city was a project that Prime Minister Sharon pushed, and it was very important to him that the project be established. Nobody is more worthy of having this city named for him than Prime Minister Sharon."
