Poll: Full Golan Pullout Not Needed for Peace

A survey conducted for the Kinneret College found that a majority of the public feels the government would not need to agree to a complete pullout from the strategic Golan Heights in order to achieve a full peace with Syria.

The Maagar Mochot (Brain Base) poll found that 58 percent felt Israel would not need to make a full pullout for such a full peace. Nearly half, 46 percent, felt that Israel should not agree to pull out of the Golan under any condition. Those conditions included a full peace, a long trial period, and a complete severing of the ties between Syria and Iran.

More than sixty percent (61%) felt that the future of the Golan is an important enough subject that it should influence or even greatly influence one's choice of party in the coming elections.
