The Finance Ministry will deliver a rough draft of a "safety net" plan to protect the public's pension to Attorney General Menachem Mazuz's office Sunday morning, for his approbation that it does not constitute "campaign economics," according to The Marker.
In spite of the plan being prepared and presented for approval, the professional echelon at the Finance Ministry is holding to its claim that any version of a safety net for public investments in the stock market bears exposure to numerous risks, and that the Ministry does not need such a plan at this time.
Ministry staff explained that their actions in preparing the safety net stem from political pressure and from acknowledging they will have no choice but to present some plan; professional economic assessment does not indicate a need for such a plan at this time, they insist.
