Shortage Gobbles Up Kosher Thanksgiving Turkeys

A shortage of kosher Thanksgiving turkeys may leave many Americans with a vegetarian holiday or feast over chicken due to the bankruptcy at Agriprocessors, the country's largest kosher meat packing plant. Empire Poultry has expanded its turkey production in an effort to fill part of the gap.

The shortage has caused prices to increase from less than $2 a pound last year to nearly $4 a pound this season.
