The United States dollar opened higher against the shekel on Friday, weighing in at NIS 4.03, .8 percent above Thursday's official closing rate. The dollar had risen above the four-shekel mark before the Thursday close.

The euro, which fell to 5.0081 on Thursday, was up three quarters of a percent Friday morning at around 5.05 shekels.
