(IsraelNN.com) The Hevron Council issued a statement Thursday morning that it is still trying to confirm the validity of "horrible claims" made by the IDF spokesman's office. The council reminded the public that "experience has proven that all too often the spokesman's announcements don't match reality."

The IDF reported violence and vandalism directed against Arab property near the Peace House, with clear insinuations that "radical" right wing Jews were responsible.

"Our announcements on the matter of keeping away from violence are fundamental. We are still checking the real facts," the council stated late Thursday morning.
