The Finance Ministry does not intend to conduct negotiations with the Histadrut National Labor Union about putting in place a safety net for pension funds. An executive at the ministry said, "we'll happily hear their position, but with all due respect, they don't dictate financial policy for the economy."

The head of the Budgeting Department of the ministry explained to Army Radio Thursday morning that labor unions are just not connected to this matter at all.

Histadrut Chairman Ofer Eini responded, "The Finance Minister is stubbornly trying to hide in a bunker instead of solving the problem.
