Foreign workers are anxious to leave Gaza Belt communities because of continuing rocket and mortar attacks. Workers from Thailand almost fled this week following an attack on a greenhouse in the Eshkol region this week, farmer David Tiboli said. "If the foreign workers leave, we will be in big trouble," he told the Hebrew daily Yediot Acharonot.
They have taken the place of thousands of Arab workers who used to work in Gush Katif and western Negev communities before massive terrorist attacks forced the government to stop passage of Arabs beyond the Gaza region.
