Light boots will replace heavy boots for non-combat soldiers in the Israel Defense Forces, starting next week according to Maariv/nrg. The army estimates that it will save 50 million shekels by going to the more comfortable uniform boot for all soldiers, starting with those enlisting this month. Reserve soldiers will be able to buy the lighter boots in a new store at the Center for Ground Training.

The IDF logistics corps intends to open additional such stores in the Central and Northern commands.
