Crossings between Gaza and the western Negev will remain closed on Sunday morning due to rocket attacks on the Negev over the weekend, Defense Minister Ehud Barak announced on Sunday. Barak said he will reassess the situation later in the day and will open the crossings if Gaza terrorists have refrained from firing rockets.
Barak agreed to open the crossings on Thursday, but then rescinded the order due to warnings of an imminent attack on one crossing. United Nations officials say they will be unable to continue their food distribution program in Gaza if the crossings do not open soon.
