President Shimon Peres called for adoption of the "Arab peace initiative" Wednesday. Speaking at the Inter-Religious Conference at the United Nations, Peres said that a better future "seems more possible today, in light of the Saudi plan, which turned into the Arab peace initiative."
"The way the initiative paints the future of the region gives hope to the nations and gives them confidence," he added.
Foreign Minister Tzipi Livni is also attending the conference.
