(IsraelNN.com) Nine Muslim countries, including Libya and Saudi Arabia, are scheduled to participate in European Parliament ceremonies Monday marking the 70th anniversary of Kristallnacht, the German pogrom on Jews that preceded the Holocaust. European Jewish Congress president Moshe Kantor noted that the participation of the countries is significant in light of Iran's threat to destroy Israel.

"Today, a leader of a very problematic country goes to the United Nations General Assembly and pronounces a criminal formula - the destruction of Israel, the death of Jews," said Kantor. "Yet nobody walked out of that room. We are in the same situation" as at the time of Kristallnacht, when the world rebuffed Jewish refugees and ignored the dangers.
