Quickie Strike Ends at Ben Gurion Airport
Workers at Ben Gurion Airport shut down the facility for several hours late Sunday night and early Monday morning following a dispute with management over wages and the status of porters and cleaning personnel. Work stoppages may continue on Monday, and management has turned to the Labor Court to order workers to stay at work.
Five flight departures and deliveries of suitcases of incoming passengers were delayed until employees returned to work. One of those delayed was Yoram Dori, a senior aide to President Shimon Peres. He said he waited for more than an hour for his luggage.
