The cabinet was set to discuss allocating a budget to protect the Jewish towns within range of Gaza. The budget proposed is in the neighborhood of 500 million shekels.
Ministers must formulate the government's response to settlers' appeal to the State High Court.
This is happening against a backdrop of the recent Kassam rocket launches. In the meantime Defense Minister Ehud Barak still is keeping the Gaza crossings closed to trucks, after last week's heavy rocket attacks on southern Israel.
