IDF officials are making plans to deal with any future conflict with Hizbullah, and say next time they would be willing to target Lebanese infrastructure, according to the Jerusalem Post. While IAF strikes targeted Hizbullah neighborhoods and rocket-launching positions during the Second Lebanon War, in a future conflict all Lebanese infrastructure would be seen as a valid target due to Hizbullah's influence over the country's government.
Hizbullah has been given veto power over parliamentary decisions, and has not only been allowed to keep its private army but has even been permitted to develop its weapons supply. The group's influence is expected to grow in Lebanon's next elections, to be held in 2009.
