A pro-Israel lobby is sponsoring the first-ever Policy Conference of European Friends of Israel (EFI) in Paris Thursday and Friday in an effort to strengthen ties between the European Union (EU) and Israel. Knesset Speaker Dalia Itzik (Kadima) will address the delegates, who include approximately 300 legislators from 38 European parliaments.
They will discuss the "Paris Declaration" that promotes stronger European-Israeli ties. It “recognizes the common values that bind Europe and Israel and a shared cultural heritage reinforced by interests based upon friendship and mutual respect…including the rights of persons belonging to minorities."
