(IsraelNN.com) Attorney Ari Shamai, who represents Yigal Amir, the convicted assassin of Prime Minister Yitzchak Rabin, said on Monday that he plans petitioning the Supreme Court if he is not allowed to see his client. The prisons service  transferred Amir from the Rimonim prison to isolation at the Eshel prison in the south three days ago, as part of punishment for unauthorized interviews he gave last week to two Israeli television channels.

Shamai says has not been allowed to see his client for the past two days to plan his appeal of the punishment. The attorney said the warden at Eshel referred him to senior officials of the prisons service, who have not responded to his repeated requests. The prisons service told Haaretz that the request is being considered.
