Officials Concerned Over Friday's Hamas Missile Attack

Government and security officials have been consulting over the weekend on how to react to a Hamas attack Friday against an IDF patrol, and there is concern that the truce between Israel and Hamas is falling apart. For the first time since the 'tahadiya' cease-fire came into effect between Israel and Hamas four months ago, Hamas terrorists fired anti-tank missiles at an IDF patrol  at Nir-oz, on the border with Gaza. There were no injuries or damage. The IDF patrol had spotted terrorists planting explosives near the border fence and advanced in their direction, when the terrorists fired the missiles.

IDF troops returned fire after the attack, also the first time soldiers fired back at terrorists on the border since the cease-fire came into effect. Since that time, Hamas terrorists have planted 15 explosive devices near IDF patrols, and fired about 60 Kassam rockets and mortar shells at Israeli targets.
