An explosive device that was taken to a Gaza police station to be dismantled killed one Hamas security office and wounded three others while it was being dismantled. Hamas did not report where the bomb was found and why it was taken inside the police station. It was not known if Fatah was involved in the incident.

Hamas and Fatah have been engaged in continuing combat but have made gestures in the past several days towards upcoming talks sponsored by Egypt, which is trying to unify the factions.
