Hebrew University archaeologist  Yosef Garfinkel claims that a handful of lines of text found on a pottery shard found at a the remnants of a town south of Jerusalem indicates that King David's rule was a powerful one.

The Hebrew text is in an ancient script and these may be among the oldest Hebrew words found preserved in writing, according to Associated Press. Garfinkel explained that much of the culture and language of the time of the shard can be puzzled out from find.
