Minister of Education Yuli Tamir (Labor-Meimad) minister blamed the approaching university strike on the treasury Wednesday. Tamir was speaking to the Knesset Finance Committee. She said the Treasury is "dragging its feet" in talks with the Higher Education Planning and Budget Committee, and that it would be disastrous if there would not be an academic year this year.
Talks have been ongoing with not much progress for two weeks.
