Palestinian Authority media say the terrorist who carried out the murderous attack in Jerusalem's Gilo neighborhood Thursday morning was identified Thursday afternoon as Muhammad Bidan, 20, of the village of Tekoa, east of Bethlehem. Bidan was reportedly arrested by Border Police two months ago at the entrance to the village for refusing to show them identification papers during a surprise check, after stones and firebombs were thrown at Israel vehicles that traveled in the area.

Bidan is in moderate condition at Hadassah Ein-Kerem hospital with wounds suffered when he was shot by a police officer he had stabbed when the officer asked him for identification. Before Bidan was arrested, he managed to stab an 86-year-old man to death.
