The Jerusalem Magistrates' Court rejected on Wednesday the lawsuit filed by MK Aryeh Eldad (NU/NRP) against the police following an injury he incurred during the destruction of Amona in 2006. Eldad was holding on to a bulldozer and was hurt when a policeman tried to force him to let go of it.

MK Eldad claimed the police had no right to violate his parliamentary immunity in this way.

The court accepted the state prosecution's contention that Knesset members' immunity does not give them the right to obstruct policemen in carrying out their duties.
