The Kerem Shalom crossing was still blocked by Jewish protestors demanding Israel's government bring kidnapped IDF soldier Gilad Shalit home from his captivity in the hands of Islamist terrorists. More directly the protest is against Israel continuing to allow goods to be transferred into Gaza through the very crossing near which Shalit was kidnapped, at a time that negotiations for his return are stalled.
The protest is one of several events planned today in the matter. The Lobby of Mothers for Gilad Shalit's Return promised to block Hamas-controlled Gaza, from every direction, until the Hamas people "can't breath."
