Hundreds of Jews arrived at the entrance to the Temple Mount on Sunday morning in order to visit permitted parts of the Mount. Police had said that Jews would be allowed to enter the area during the Sukkot holiday.
However, those waiting to enter the Temple Mount said police were restricting access to the area and were allowing only small groups to enter, forcing most of those present to wait for hours. Police said they could not promise that all of those waiting would be allowed in by 10 a.m., when they will stop letting groups in. Those still waiting at 10 can try again at 12:30 p.m., they said.
