Police Chase Down, Arrest Arab Sheep Rustlers
Police on Saturday night chased down a suspicious van that was traveling near the Arab town of Kafr Kara – and discovered a load of sixty sheep, apparently stolen from Israeli sheep farmers.
Police stopped the van on Road 65, near the Arab village, but when an officer walked up to the van's window seeking to check the driver's documents, another vehicle drove up to the scene, and its driver stepped out of the car and began attacking the officer. Both the truck and the vehicle sped into Kafr Kara, with police in hot pursuit, eventually catching and stopping both the van and the vehicle. The drivers of both -residents of the nearby Arab towns of Arara and Um el-Fahm - were arrested and taken in for questioning.
