The Arab who started the racial riots in Akko, Tawfik Jamal, Sunday told an urgent meeting of the Knesset Interior Committee that he made a mistake when drove his car through the Jewish Neighborhoods of Akko on Yom Kippur (The Day of Atonement).
He denied accusations that he had been drunk and had his car stereo playing excessively loud, or that he was even listening to music. He called what he has gone through these past five days a difficult experience. "[I] was mistakenly made into a murderer and a fascist."
